EVALUATIONS

Dr. Whetstone provides comprehensive “360° Assessments” of child and adult learning, behavior, and emotional styles. He begins the process using protocols to assess the clients’ view of their world. He follows up with classroom and family observations, interviews with parents and teachers, review of the records, and cognitive and emotional testing. Feedback sessions with the client and the important people who surround the client confirm an agreed-upon set of strengths which the child or adult client uses to overcome challenges. He specializes in assessment, intervention design, therapy, and coaching for people suspected or diagnosed with the following: Attention deficit / hyperactivity disorders, non-verbal learning disabilities, learning disabilities, reactive attachment disorders, anxiety and depression, social and emotional challenges, drug and alcohol involvement, oppositional defiant and conduct disorders.

Dr. Whetstone developed the 360° Assessment Model to encourage "team" approaches. As part of the assessment and intervention process, he calls together the important people who surround the individual child or adult to ask for their input and to develop agreements across home, school, and community.
Dr. Whetstone teaches college students and teachers how to conduct reliable and valid evaluations, and how to read and use psychological evaluations that accompany people from setting to setting.
